Dragonwillow was bulging at the seams. Dragons upon dragons had descended upon the weyr in all sorts of bright and glittery colours for the festival. However a few were grumbling. Not being quite so glitzed and glittery, green Laenth was starting to feel a little left out. Her rider Cosaeh was concerned as Laenth was usually quite a cheerful dragon and she seemed more down than Cosaeh had ever seen her. So Cosaeh consulted J'neven. J'neven and his bond blue Falwymth were search riders so she figured that they would have some idea of where they could go to help cheer Laenth up and help her get her confidence back.

J'neven thought for a moment when she asked him then answered "How about Eriol Weyr? I here they are currently holding a frenzy"

"I don't know" Cosaeh replied "That's part of the problem. Laenth is feeling left out because these frenzies always wnat a certain type of dragon, Glittery, Wintery, red and yellow checkered with Pink polka dots. No frenzy ever wants a green dragon"

J'neven grinned at Cosaeh "This one does. There is no specific theme for this frenzy and in fact I heard they will welcome the more traditionally coloured dragons. I was thinking I would go my self because that is the other thing. The males don't chase the females, its the other way round"

"You mean you might be going?" Cosaeh had always secretly had a crush on J'neven and didn't always hide it that well.

"I was considering it" J'neven replied slowly. J'neven liked Cosaeh and thought she was a great gal but he kinda hoped Laenth wouldn't decide to chase Falwynth.

"I will ask Laenth" Cosaeh replied finally "If she wants to then we will go "

"Great! If she says yes then I'll meet you in the weyr bowl tomorrow morning and we will leave then. If you don't arrive I will go anyway"

Laenth decided she would like to go as she had never participated in a frenzy before, yet she had always wanted to and never had the opportunity. While Cosaeh went to seek the weyrrwoman to get her permission to go, Laeeth excitedly told any dragon that came within hearing distance that she, Laenth, a green dragon, was going to participate in a frenzy.

Blue Jiiyrushi heard Laenth talking and turned to his bond Yellow Islyea. Do you want to go? It could be fun?

Just as long as you make sure it's me that catches you Islyea told her bond ominously.

As long as you are fast enough it shouldn't be a problem Jiiyrushi ducked before Islyea could hit him.

Trisith had come back to Dragonwillow from Star City Dragonry to lick his wounds after yet another chase that he hadn't won. He didn't tell any one this though, if they asked he told them that there hadn't been anyone worth chasing. No one really believed him but they let him have his pride. His ears pricked up however when he heard Laenth mention the fact that the females had to chase the males. If he entered he could deny all those uppity females for a change then let the one he wanted catch him. Trisith chuckled in evil delight.

Smatli had just come back from a long search journey and desperately needed a break before the Glitter Festival searching began in earnest. He had been dozing in the sun but Laenth's voice seemed to penetrate into his dreams in which he saw a lovely twilight coloured dragon talking to him with Laenth's voice. As he woke up he wasn't quite sure which part he had dreamed and which part was true. As soon as he had worked out which was which, Smatli was eager to go to.

Kyalana and Niateiyass had never participated in a frenzy and after a having spent the past six months on high priestess duty back in the Dragonlogues, a frenzy flight seemed just the way to chase away their stress. Plus they could both participate so they started making bets with each other on who would would catch their prize first and resolved to try not to chase the same dragons.

Cosaeh had also been telling other people. She had run into her good friend Aphrodite, an 18 year old girl from earth and rider of Hearted red Kerenya, on her way to the weyrwoman's office. The two girls had a lot in common and were often found gossiping long into the night. It didn't take to much to convince Aphrodite & Kerenya that they wanted to attend the frenzy as well. Aphrodite just hoped that there would be some red toned dragons for Kerenya to chase as she refused to mate with anything else.

When J'neven and Falwynth arrived in the weyrbowl the following morning, they were amazed at the large band of dragons and riders that were Eriol bound. "Oh well" J'neven though to himself, the more the merrier. With that, the dragons took to the air and one by one disappeared between to Eriol and the backwards frenzy.
